Yubiwa Indigo Noren

Yubiwa Indigo Noren

Intricately hand-knotted in a simple motif of interlocking rings, and then dyed in a deep natural indigo in a nasu-kon shade, the deepest eggplant blue, this beautiful noren makes an elegant wall hanging or doorway curtain.

The historic center of shibori, the Japanese art of manual resist dyeing, since 1608, Arimatsu still produces high quality hand-knotted and dyed work from their traditional workshops on the outskirts of modern Nagoya. Igetaya has been producing small-batch shibori noren, kimono fabric, and more in Arimatsu since 1780.
